A senior finance director/executive (ACA with first time passes) with a wide range of financial and commercial experience in both private and public companies (UK, US and International). Proven leadership skills include managing, developing and motivating teams to meet their objectives. Considerable experience of change management, systems implementations (financial and non-financial), corporate finance and treasury, as well as being highly IT literate; highly adaptable and able to work on own initiative or as part of a team.

Brought in to improve the quality of the finance department following its failure to pass Sarbanes Oxley in 2004 and to provide commercial input to a loss making and cash negative business; the UK business was profitable in every month of 2006 for the first time in it’s history. The finance team size was 38 staff.Achievements•Significant involvement in driving a Customer Service ethic into the business and implementing strict financial control. The UK has turned around from a major loss position in 2004 and the first 3 quarters of 2005 to profit. The UK made a trading profit every month in 2006, a first for the business that continued to improve through the year.•All reporting now on time and in compliance with SOX and US GAAP. The UK achieved the No1 position for compliance at the 2005 year end.•Headcount reduced in Finance from 52 staff to 38.•Successful settlement of a multi-million business interruption claim following a fire that destroyed one of the main branches.

Involved in a strategic review of easyJet’s In-Flight Retail business; the review realised an extra £1.9m of profit per annum following a renegotiation of the current outsourced contract. Review included:• Business modelling and full analytical review of the current retail business.• Contract review and negotiation.• Preparing a project plan for bringing the contract back in-house, together with a full risk analysis.
