Senior Manager Global Employment Taxes
CurrentI oversee execution of multiple employment tax functions, including the groups evolving employment tax governance framework, against a backdrop of constant changes within the business and ongoing tax law changes. I assess and secure multiple savings opportunities with primary focus on process efficiency/automation trends. I efficiently manage business tax risks and delivery of information regarding key issues to stakeholders in liaison with colleagues across cross-functional departments. I collaborate with diverse teams directly, indirectly, and remotely to ensure completion of prescribed tasks.• Headed implementation of employment tax governance frameworks across UK, liaised with local teams across Ireland, Netherlands, and US to subsequently extend the framework beyond the UK, further supporting execution of Liberty Global's quarterly Tax Policy sign off process.• Oversaw successful conclusion of HMRC audits/disclosures into termination payments, NMW, travel & expenses, PSAs, and share schemes, whilst serving as employment tax lead for HMRC, across BRR, SAO, DAC6, and KYC.• Established policy, process, and control changes on STBVs and employee cross border moves as well as delivered robust solutions relating to taxation of Liberty Global's unapproved equity scheme.• Acted as key spokesperson in representing Liberty Global group's employment tax interests CBI, PAYE in Industry Group, multiple external forums, and advisor events.• Collaborated with US non-executive and other European senior employees regarding tax obligations across salary, equity, and BIKs with inclusion of corporate jet.• Integrated IR35 program sponsored by CFO and CPO in collaboration with Virgin Mobile with initial 20K+ non-employee worker IDs from various suppliers.• Retained Virgin Media role to bring Virgin Media's successful approach to employment taxes across Liberty Global.• Advised Liberty Global's start-ups and JVs relating to wide-ranged employment tax considerations.
