Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery

I am responsible for care and development of the World Cultures collection at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery. This is a Designated collection of some 12,000 objects from the four main continents, which reflect British colonial interests abroad - Africa, the Americas, Asia and Oceania. 2008 - 2012 major museum redevelopment and Collections.

This post served as my apprenticeship to museum work and in the subject of ethnography. My time there was focused on assisting with the redevelopment of the World Cultures gallery. It was during this period that I worked on collection documentation, collection relocation and helped the curators develop their ideas for the main galleries. This was my first.

Managing and access provision of Government records for internal clients. I took this position only to prevent me from unemployment status whilst I was looking for more appropriate work in the heritage sector.

Worked on a number of locatins, mainly the excavations at the cathedral. Also volunteered as an assistant to the Defence of Chester project where I photographed and plotted EWS signs, hexagonal pillboxes, existing bomb shelters and bomb craters.

Worked on various sites around Merseyside including the Romano-British sites at Irby and Halewood and a Mesolithic site at Greaseby.
