Lead $4m project to move one production facility to new site and develop for increased output capacity and several more $1m+ projects to develop existing facilities on site. As a member of the Asset Services Team I was responsible for the management of a variety of buildings. Generally being assigned to new buildings, circumstances have led to me taking a leading role in the installation, fit-out and development of M&E services and liaising with both contractors and landlord to achieve a more efficient performance.With my extensive experience on M&E issues I also offered consultancy and support to the network of Property Managers in HCMC.

 As a member of the Estate Management and Building Service (EMBS) Team I was responsible for the design and supervision of services and works associated with the refurbishment and maintenance of University buildings and plant as well as ‘new build’ projects up to the value of ₤2.5million. I was required to undertake the preparation of schemes, estimates, detailed designs, contract documentation and oversee the installation of the full range of M&E services. This included HVAC, boilers, general power and lighting systems, fire alarms, emergency lighting, structured cabling installations and special power requirements including 11kV and sub-station design. I oversaw projects through all stages including inception, feasibility, detailed design, installation, commissioning and final completion using either ‘in house’ labour or external contractors for the installation and construction works. The ‘in house’ department for which I was responsible contained approximately 40 staff across a variety of maintenance fields. Where projects were not fully ‘in house’ resourced I oversaw and supervised the preparation and implementation of designs prepared by external services consultants. In my role I utilised many skills including cost estimating and computer literacy, including design software AutoCad, Dialux, Cymap and general software packages.

 In my time employed at Marshall Aerospace I became an integral part of the facilities management team. The scope of my responsibilities was wide, encompassing M&E planned maintenance, potable water, extraction systems, aircraft power supplies, machinery, generators, general hangar services, runway lighting and an extensive 11kV network.  Within the time I was at Marshall Aerospace I became involved in several working groups responsible for improving work practices and efficiencies. Due to the technical nature of the company’s services, maintenance and overhaul of civilian and military aircraft, high standards (ISO 9001:2001) of workmanship were required.
