The SkyVent, VentaLite Kit, and SkyVent Hybrid + save energy, and provide a healthier, more comfortable environment inside buildings and sheds. Effective and efficient ventilation in houses, workplaces, schools, and sheds has never been more important to reduce airborne virus transmission, airborne contaminants, and help reduce/eliminate mould given the extreme weather events, Covid pandemic and the return of influenza in the community.I'm excited to be helping to bring these Australian designed and manufactured products to the market.

Evapod is a business commercialising a new type of relocatable housing that is easy to transport and assemble on site. The design incorporates patented technology that improves the buildings structural mass and thermal efficiency relative to conventional designs.

My role as an executive director of CINTEP is to assist this start up cleantech company to develop and commercialise a recycling shower that uses up to 70% less water and 70% less electricity whilst still providing a great shower experience.

My role as a non-executive director is to assist the business owner to realise the assets of the company in the most effective and efficient way for distribution to shareholders.

Everhard Industries is a privately owned family company that supplies a wide range of products to the plumbing and hardware industry, including laundry units, surface water drainage products, kitchen sinks, bathroom vanities and basins, septic tanks, grease arrestors, and aerated wastewater treatment systems. The products are a mixture of items manufactured in-house and imported. The company operates nationally out of five branches and employs approximately 200 staff.My achievements included:• Initiated change in sourcing of components and new products from China to improve Everhard’s product range and cost competitiveness.• Streamlined Australian manufacturing operations to reduce unnecessary duplication of productive capacity in both plastics and concrete operations.• Reorganised site layouts to reduce the need for multiple handling of stock prior to despatch to customers.• Reduction in workplace injuries in terms of Lost Time Injury Frequency rates (down 68% in 6 years) and Duration rates through implementation of new safety management systems and greater employee involvement in risk assessment and control.• Maintained a system of continuous improvement resulting in Certification to ISO9002.• Restructured the corporate entities to streamline reporting and auditing requirements. • Established international markets for Everhard products through the creation of Everhard International Pty Ltd. This company developed a substantial market for Everhard’s surface water drainage and wastewater treatment products, particularly in South Africa where it is a registered foreign corporation.• I was on the board from 2003 to 2011, and a member of the audit committeefrom 1998 to 2011.During my time as Chief Executive Officer, I also continued to fulfil the role of Chief Financial Officer.

My role encompassed:• Overseeing the entire accounting and administration function.• Preparing budgets in line with strategic plans and forecast economic conditions.• Preparing monthly reports for the Board and operational managers on financial performance compared to budget and prior year.• Establishing and reporting on various KPI’s to assist in managing performance of operational divisions.• Documenting and improving internal systems, including the implementation of a fully integrated ERP system in 2000.• Liaising with external experts such as solicitors, auditors, taxation specialists, insurance brokers, and banks.• Assessing potential business acquisitions and integrating new acquisitions into Everhard’s systems.• Providing input into key management issues.

Havestock Pty Ltd is a business supplying engineered castings and steel grating products. The owner of Everhard acquired the business in 2000, and sold it in 2010.My role included providing oversight of, and guidance to the General Manager of Havestock, and assisting with the strategic and operational planning.My achievements included:• Restructuring the business to turn around significant early losses. This included closing non-performing business units and re-engineering the structure and funding arrangements of the business.• Managing the process of a trade sale of the business to a major international group that specialises in these product ranges.

My role encompassed:• Responsibility for all of the firm’s audit work.• Responsibility for client’s superannuation fund accounts, tax and other regulatory returns.• Providing a full range of accounting and taxation services to a small range of business services clients.• Special assignments including a significant number of business valuations.• Responsibility for the administration and implementation of the firm’s information technology plan and computer network.

I worked as a contract accountant in the Group finance section for six months.

I rejoined the Corporate audit team after finishing my Commerce degree at UNSW full time over the previous two years.
