I led the corporation’s legislative, regulatory, policy and advocacy team for the Experian Group of companies for 25 years. I retired in April 2024 and am now traveling, volunteering and spending time between my home in Northern Virginia and my home on Flathead Lake, MT. While with Experian, I advised executive teams in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific on regulatory strategy affecting multiple business lines. These include consumer and business credit reporting, data analytics, consumer and SME finance, identity management, fraud detection, digital marketing, e-commerce, financial education, Health IT, and privacy/data protection. I’ve focused on outcomes through mitigation of regulatory risk and facilitation of regulatory opportunities. My duties spanned all aspects of corporate government affairs, public policy and communications – global, federal, state and local. I engaged Experian’s policy development and outreach with a number of trade groups, coalitions and stakeholders, including the American Financial Services Association, the Direct Marketing Association, the Consumer Data Industry Association, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Financial Technology Council, and the World Bank’s SME Finance Forum. I also worked to build stakeholder alliances to facilitate research and policy development in the areas of financial infrastructure reform and financial inclusion through several global organizations. I frequently presented at national and global forums and received numerous industry and corporate leadership and business development awards.
