Tony is a director in McKinsey's Natural Capital and Nature group. Core focus areas include helping companies on their journey to nature-positive, assisting governments in their design and implementation of the UN's 30 by 30 target, and navigating a pathway towards nature credits. Prior to this, he co-founded and led McKinsey's Global Infrastructure Initiative (GII), a community of the world’s most senior leaders in infrastructure that are committed to the pursuit of smart, resilient, and future-ready infrastructure.. Tony has more 30 years of experience in designing and implementing complex global programs, having worked with leading multinational corporations, governments, and nongovernmental organizations. Specialty areas include strategic development, stakeholder engagement, and project management. Tony’s experience spans infrastructure, sustainability, conservation, tourism, and high-impact events.Prior to joining McKinsey, Tony worked as a management consultant and entrepreneur for more than 20 years. During this time, he worked on impact summits with Fortune, performed sustainability consulting with Blu Skye, and co-created the Biodiversity & Wine Initiative, a transformative sustainable agriculture partnership between the South African wine industry and the conservation sector. He is on the advisory board of Tompkins Conservation, a global conservation organization that creates national parks, recovers imperiled wildlife, and promotes sustainable local communities.Tony holds undergraduate and post graduate business degrees from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. He lives with his family in Bend, Oregon, and has a passion for life, nature, food and wine.
