Tony founded Shine Consulting Limited in 2016 to provide systems engineering consultancy services to defence, aerospace and other industry clients. Tony qualified as a Counsellor in 2018 and the business has evolved to include Shine Counselling, his private counselling practice.Tony has nearly 40 years’ experience as a systems engineer and project manager. In a varied career, he has been involved at all stages in the systems engineering lifecycle across domains as diverse as defence, civil nuclear, transport, justice and space. Tony has a proven track record of solving complex problems and delivering projects within budget, on time and to required standards. He has shown great versatility and flexibility, applying his skills across a number of systems engineering domains, as well as more recently adapting very quickly to working in the education and care sectors. Tony is equally happy leading or operating within a team, or working under his own initiative. He is ICT literate and also has exceptional numeracy and literacy skills, being educated to Masters level. Tony has excellent interpersonal skills and is confident in client-facing roles with government and industry customers.Tony provides counselling services to individuals, couples and families, face-to-face or over the phone and Zoom. He also provides counselling services into various wellbeing agencies. His approach is relational and integrative, meaning that he draws upon techniques from the three main schools of psychotherapy - psychodynamic, CBT and person-centred - and that the client-therapist relationship is at the core of his work. Tony uses a Transactional Analysis model for couples work, and works systemically with families.Tony is a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.Please note Shine Counselling is not currently taking on new clients until March 2024 at the earliest.
