Silkmoth is a Cheshire based web and application management specialist. Key clients include Kingspan, Constructing Better Health plus many more but their main niche is as a leading developer of software for selling tyres for both the larger wholesalers through to individual fitting centres. Historically this has lead from transforming National tyre's online presence to now a variety of ventures with the likes of Micheldever, leading brands such as Goodyear, Michelin, Volvo and now a direct solution that provides a leading edge seo optimised website for individual centres to supply and sell the tyres and services of their choice.Using my previous experience in a customer service background as well as technical positions from development to technical support I can see things from both the perspective of developers and end users. So helping manage these expectations and ability to point out, suggest and implement areas for improvement including new opportunities has allowed me to take a leading role in this area to manage the current support team with the view of future growth and expansion.

My initial job title was Systems administrator with key tasks including server management, domain management and the general varied tasks that most people who have worked in that field will appreciate! This covered management and continued maintenance of a local SBS environment for our internal office but on the client side supporting everything from publishing to maintaining web applications on a predominantly SQL based .Net environment.Shortly after I started with the company its direction changed and over time Silkmoth has become a key player in the tyre industry providing automated b2c websites for individual fitting centres. One of the major ventures in this area is a partnership with the tyre wholesaler Micheldever, whom we have launched over 1000 independent websites with. This in itself was an exciting project I have been part of from the start which presented numerous challenges but many opportunities and this is where my change in role took a significant change. Throughout both roles I have been direct in taking responsibility for cost saving and price negotiation on contracts and renewals, saving Silkmoth thousands of pounds i.e. domain renewals alone have saved almost £12k against normal renewal. Managing a portfolio of circa 4000 domains.The next step in my new role is listed separately, so if you are still reading I think it will show above for current role.

Worked in the IT department of a not for profit housing association, progressed from It assistant to IT officer and deputised for the IT manager.Due to the nature of such company's this covered 1st to 3rd line support in the traditional sense. Tasks ranged from managing group policy, sql queries, bespoke applications, managing backups, Cisco\ipfx config, much more to helping with anything with a plug!I also covered the It manager position and also spent a years secondment as a Neighbourhood Manager which gave me both great experience from the end users perspective but also valuable experience for a personal interest in property and future potential opportunities.
