I have worked with clients in several states to optimize their businesses and achieved higher profits within the Businesses. Analyzed different Aggregate and Sand & Gravel operations to evaluate performance of the company and/or its staff in meeting objectives to determine areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement, industry best practices and proper maintenance, and equipment performance, while minimizing expenses. This is achieved using and teaching of the TQM tools such as Check Sheets, Scatter and C&E Diagrams, Pareto Charts, Flow Charts, AggFlows and Control Charts. Created what ideally, is called a playbook, starts with mine planning, stripping, drilling & blasting, pit processing, fixed equipment, capital investments/ CAPEX, inventory management, sales/shipping, quality control/quality assurance, safety, health, environmental, HR, and community relations. Was able to optimize and create plans for each part of their operations. Mentored the business owners as well as the onsite managers on CAPEX projects, sharing of industry and some created best practices and SOPs within the aggregate mining and construction industry. Special team building lessons were part of the playbook as well as the use of great TQM tools/Six Sigma methodologies, that were created to track and define where the bottlenecks are and how to strategically remove them for good. First using noncapital dollars and then if needed pull together justification for capital funds to improve the plants performance. Continuous improvement and Operational Excellence were achieved using and teaching the Lean Six Sigma Process.I Have been an Operations Manager for plants ranging from 4 employees to over 100. Have had responsibilities for 1 to 20 operations. 250,000 tons annually to over 8.5 million tons annually. Have an excellent safety record with decreasing/eliminating injuries and incident rates. Have been a leader in safety, production, environment, health and community. Have completed more projects on time and below budget. Worked on many pilot programs and projects that are in place and working well. Have been Chairman of several committees.
