TREATAWARE is a dedicated treatment information and education project provided by NAPWHA to promote health maintenance and treatments knowledge for people living with HIV.The Coordinator works closely with the Executive Director and other staff to implement education and information initiatives such as treatment roadshows, “Chin Wag” interactive social education events, and HIV Short Course training workshops. The Coordinator will also provide representation and written materials as required to support the advocacy and policy activities of NAPWHA. Other activities include supporting the national Treataware Outreach Network of community workers (TON) to facilitate regular communications and meetings, providing content and references for resource production, web and publication platforms, and providing specific advice and referral information for NAPWHA members, and external contacts.The Treataware project operates within the scope and objectives of the current NAPWHA Strategic Plan, and also has a number of activities directly related to the current National HIV Strategy, as acquitted through Commonwealth funding arrangements for NAPWHA.The Coordinator should have a sound knowledge of HIV, especially in relation to HIV treatment and health promotion, and have a demonstrated understanding of the lived experience of HIV in the Australian context.
