Read and respond to supplier emails to insure correct BOM components are ordered. Utilizing drafting software such as Autodesk Inventor and AutoCad to design unique complex wheel stress testing machinery.
Applying engineering knowledge in conjunction with FEA analysis to spec out electrical motors, stepdown gearboxes, bearings and materials that will survive in the production environment. Coordinate between Electrical Engineers and IT to insure that newly developed machinery is up to the latest safety and automation standards. Support and sustain current production on the factory floor by ensuring machinery downtime is kept to a minimum. Create welder pilots and fixtures based on customer and product engineering specs to insure correct compatibility of new product on existing equipment. Design efficient wheel expander tooling that reduces setup time and is compatible with automation. Layout existing production lines to accept automation upgrades and processes.

Utilize Autodesk Inventor to create full-scale models, run heat exchanger piping, design pipe supports, prepare prints for shop, design heat exchangers based on lead engineer specs, calculate jacket water cooling capacity, create engine and heat exchanger frames, design multi purpose engine sound attenuating box. and manage bill of materials.
