About Tony Plouck
My first job was as a chimney sweep; no joke! I was in high school and worked summers for the local chimney sweep with the endearing title of "gopher". Which essentially meant I did whatever I was told, hauling and cleaning supplies as we drove all over Northwest Ohio. I loved that job, despite the air condition-less van that only seemed to play talk radio. I loved it for the same reason I've loved every job since; the people!I'm stepping into a new phase of life as a software developer through the coding BootCamp at Tech Elevator! The most pleasant surprise I have found in this new world is that it is not the socially inert environment Hollywood would lead us all to believe, but is in fact full of a wonderful community of people. People who are not only passionate about their work and the problems they are solving but also encouraging and supportive of their coworkers and the broader programming community. Which now includes me!I'm excited to add my own passion and compassion to this community. Excited to join a team and work together toward smart and effective solutions. With the added benefit of meeting a ton of great new people along the way!And if you've made it this far here's an excerpt from one of my favorite poems by Ross Gay:"I canโt stopmy gratitude, which includes, dear reader,you, for staying here with me,for moving your lips just so as I speak.Here is a cup of tea. Following Agile methodologies, the application was built across 4 sprints over a 2 week period taking direction and design input from Product Owner and Scrum Master.โข๐ฉ๐ถ๐ฟ๐๐๐ฎ๐น ๐ฆ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐๐ฝ๐ฝ๐น๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป (๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ถ-๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฝ๐๐๐ผ๐ป๐ฒ) - Utilized Visual Studio, Git, and Command Line to design a virtual store that displays inventory/stock from a file and accepts user input for depositing money and making a purchase, while tracking all transactions in a log file. Followed principles of OOP, utilized pair-programming methodologies and implemented TDD through unit testing.โข๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ธ ๐ง๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ฝ๐ฝ๐น๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป (๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ถ-๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฝ๐๐๐ผ๐ป๐ฒ) - Utilized Visual Studio, MSQL Server, and Postman to develop and test a bank transfer system. An MVC patterned build, which implemented a RESTful API, authenticated users and then limited their authorization within the application. Pair-programming methodologies were followed throughout.
