Oversees the planning, installation, control, and maintenance of personal computers within the organization.  Analyzes business needs and new technology and makes recommendations to meet user needs Installs, configures, and maintains the organization's LAN server and workstations. Manages performance and maintains security. Develops organizational policies and procedures for hardware and software use. Analyzes, plans, designs, and installs new personal computer systems and reviews, monitors and upgrades existing personal computer systems. Determines user specifications for hardware and software.  Administers and conducts training in specialized software applications. Trains and monitors progress of staff and effectiveness of training programs. Assesses organization computer training needs and specialized requirements.  Ensures project timelines and budgets are met.  Oversees the internet web site of the organization. Manages database development, technical programming, web site design, and daily operations. Develops and maintains backup procedures and policies verifying their validity regularly. Works with Nursery staff in preparing the marketing tools for flyers and other programs.  Oversees the recording and calculation of unit cost for products and services for the company. Examines any costs that seem contrary to past experience.  Organizes the procedures to maintain a good physical inventory. Responsible for maintaining the Moxie Java software including working with PAR, writing the procedures and help with training. Oversees the Point of Sale process including the credit card operations, the card system for gifts and the promotional marketing cards, including ordering supplies. Work as backup to the Garden Shop cashier as necessary. Help with the purchase orders and as back up. Making sure the software and systems are current with updates and closing procedures. Helping with new reports and other projects as needed.
