About Tony Royce

I am an experienced professional with strong understanding and passion for Defence and international affairs who could add value to multinational organisations in the security and Defence arena. I have worked with many overseas government representatives and retain productive links with them in the UK and elsewhere. My core competencies include diplomacy, grasping the strategic environment, operational planning, leadership, intelligence analysis and policy development. I am driven by and enjoy the mission of enhancing the UK's Defence capabilities and security interests; I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team.I can help navigate complex international relationships, based on an understanding of how this is done properly and what the rules of this nuanced game are. I enjoy this challenge and have delivered successfully on numerous occasions with many different countries across a variety of issues: political agreements, export campaigns, unified strategies against adversaries and collaboration on modernisation and transformation. My personal networks combined with deep, hard earned experience will allow me to assist you in this arena, coordinating multiple angles of approach and engagement to deliver successful outcomes.I bring understanding of the strategic environment, to help organisations and companies develop appropriate strategies with countries and regions. The current geo-political environment is dynamic, through engagement with my networks I am able to build a clear picture of the dynamics behind the headlines - identify the intent from the narrative and understand motivations that drive current and future actions. This area is my passion as well as my profession, my in depth knowledge and experience allowed me to develop a strategy for the Army not only for the immediate timeframe, but through its modernisation epoch to 2035 and then beyond to prepare now for the likely strategic environment out to 2050.I can help identify optimal areas for collaboration with the UK's allies and partners, this will help organisations identify areas to focus their efforts with specific countries or which countries to focus on based on your output. My knowledge is particularly attuned to the land environment, but I have experience in air and maritime too. Increasingly as insecurity increases and global stability decreases focus on the land domain will become more prescient.Having worked in the MOD for some 9 years and exclusively since 2017, I can develop policy within the Whitehall framework, understanding its procedures and relationships.
