I have 30 years experience in the construction industry as a heavy lifting and bridge construction techniques specialist. The areas in which I have worked include bridge building, mechanical design of material handling equipment and Mobile Personnel Access Systems, Heavy Mechanical Equipment design for Steel Production Facilities such as One Steel, heavy lifting on Sporting Stadiums and Heavy lifting in Oil and Gas.I have been directly responsible for several stay cable bridge projects in Australia and Overseas for Pedestrian and Road and Rail stay bridges. This incorporated the design of specialist temporary works for heavy lifting of bridge structures and components and stay cable installation, and permanent works interfacing design of post tensioning and stay cable elements into the permanent structures.I have also designed a precast deck handling self-launching gantry for Sungai Prai Stay Cable Bridge, Penang Malaysia. Other Stay Cable bridge projects include Panama Bridge 2nd Crossing, Severn River Second Crossing, Ting Kau Bridge Hong Kong. I have also worked on the design of formwork for cast in situ balanced cantilever form work gantries.As part of the Freyssinet Group I have been involved in 3 load-out projects in the oil and gas industry where large steel structures, weighing more than 10,000 tonnes have been launched from land over and onto water based vessels.Additionally I have been involved in 3 separate joint venture Incrementally Launched bridge Projects.
