At Westland Workgear we provide high quality work wear, uniforms and safety gear for a widerange of New Zealand businesses including construction, corporate and everything in between.My current role keeps me very busy and includes overall responsibility for both companyadmin & marketing. On a day to day level, this can involve:• Planning and controlling change.• Managing quality assurance programmes.• Setting and reviewing budgets and managing cost.• Overseeing all marketing• Managing company cash flow, financial reporting and all aspects of financial management.Our business’ reputation for quality depends on being able to constantly deliver high standards inboth how we operate and how we administer ourselves financially. I feel that this is a vital part ofwhat makes us the company that we are.

This role is a busy and vital part of what makes our company tick. With responsibility for managingboth the procurement of materials and the production of product, here I learned many of theimportant skills I use in my current role. Day to day activities include:• Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness• Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation• Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers• Determine quantity and timing of deliveries• Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demandWhile in this role I also took on some responsibility in the finance department which related towhat I was managing. This gradually evolved into my operations/finance manger role.
