After recieving a B.S. Chemical Engineering from UND, I accepted a position as a Chemical Process Engineer for Innovex Inc. I spent 3.5 years in that position improving efficiencies from two production lines, copper etching and soldermask develop/cure.I moved into an R&D engineering position with the same company, where I worked on developing new materials, equipment, and processes to further the companies technological capabilities. I also recieved Six Sigma black belt training.I accepted a quality engineering position at Cirrus Design. I primarily worked on defect reduction on composite aircraft parts by implementing a new Six Sigma program. I also became involved in non-destructive testing (NDT) of carbon based composites.After two years with Cirrus, I moved into an R&D engineering position at the Energy and Environmental Research Center (EERC.) My principle area of research involved alternative fuels development, coal gasification, carbon dioxide capture and sequestration, and process modeling/economic analysis.Five years later, I was rehired by Cirrus Aircraft into a hybrid Materials-Process-Quality Engineering Manager position. My primary responsibilities are to manage the introduction of new materials into the composite manufacturing facility, improve processes to enhance efficiency and profitability, and sustain and improve the quality of composite parts.I am currently working on completing a master's degree in chemical engineering, and I will graduate in August 2013.
