COL (ret) Tony Thacker is the Vice President of i3CivilAnalytics (i3CA), a consultancy for National Security Professionals that offers advisory services, research and analytics, and customized training to inform critical missions and build stability within the Contemporary Operational Environment (COE). Bringing his rich military experience, and deep, unparalleled expertise, COL Thacker applies his skills as an innovative, multilingual and visionary leader to educate, develop and train. COL Thacker spent 35 years as both an NCO and Officer. He is the leading theorist on GPC (Great Powers Competition), IW (Irregular Warfare) and CA (Civil Affairs). COL Thacker’s SOF experience spans multiple disciplines in SOF units as an Enlisted and Officer beginning with 75th Ranger Regiment, JSOC, SOFCA, and SOCOM in multiple MOS/Branches. Because of this, COL Thacker has a well-rounded understanding of the needs of the SOF community and the importance of the human factor. COL Thacker is a leader who invests in leaders and builds strong, cohesive teams able to produce results that matter. With a history of working in conventional and special operations units, COL Thacker understands multifaceted environments. He can provide advanced civil analytics to strategic leadership because of his proven record of delivering feasible, acceptable, sustainable and distinguishable solutions to complex challenges across multi domain, inter-organizational & multinational, environments. He has a strong operations background and is skilled in planning, executing and leading sizable organizations focused on large scale, precision Enterprise solutions in support of National Security outcomes to include Combat, Homeland Security, Counterinsurgency, and Humanitarian Assistance & Disaster Relief experience. COL Thacker holds a Master’s degree in International Relations (Middle East focus), a Master’s in Military Arts and Science, and a Master’s degree in National Strategic policy and security. He was the lead Civil Affairs officer at SOCOM and CENTCOM prior to his retirement, and while at SOCOM, was the co-author of the first book on the Gray Zone Theory. COL Thacker is a graduate of the Navy War College (Senior Service School) and has 14 combat deployments demonstrating his impressive on-the-ground experience and leadership.
