Sunshine Coast Public University Hospital (PPP)As the Site based Construction Manager I was responsible for, but not limited to the following;• Promote and appropriately represent AE Smith & Son, including maintaining the highest standards of confidentially.• Ensuring the Occupational Health and Safety obligations of workers and workplace are met as required by the Act and Regulation.• Attend regular meetings to review design and delivery requirements.• Review and Status program delivery to ensure on track with builders program.• Review and track project spends.• Raise progress claims and reconcile payment schedules.• Review Labour Forecasting to ensure resources are sufficient to manage all project delivery requirements.• Maintain and monitor reporting requirements under the contract, IE report fuel, plant, waste usage, report OH&S statistics, Apprentice Training and Industrial Relation requirements. • Weekly/Monthly project reporting to the Project Director on project status.

In December 2008, I took up the role of BIM to oversee the delivery of the FACOPS program. When SSDS took over there were 64 contracts still under management from the incumbent service provider which were novated over to SSDS. I oversaw this process and assisted with the procurement of Project Managers to deliver these projects. In addition to this, I was responsible for the delivery of the minor works which involved the management of the immediate, urgent and routine maintenance work requests. I was also responsible for the delivery of the ‘Alternate’ delivery of the General Building Works (GBW) at RAAF Base Townsville whereby SSDS had a fixed price to deliver GBW works with a set monthly budget.

At Thomas & Coffey I was initially engaged as a Project Manager to delivery major and minor projects in and around the Townsville area. Having had numerous years experience working in and around Defence site, Thomas & Coffey saw an opportunity to engage someone with that experience to assist in delivering project on and around Defence bases in NQ. 12 months later I was promoted to Operations Manager where combined with running projects, I also ran the branch operations in Townsville.

The position was responsible for all projects works for Defence (CMC) in the North Queensland region. This includes a turnover in excess of $26M per annum.My key responsibilities were,• Manage the implementation and delivery of all project works for all Defence sites across the North Queensland region.• Ensure financial viability of all operations including staffing, resourcing, maintenance and repairs.• Develop and implement operational plans to meet contractual obligations.• Review policy development and implementation across all sectors of operations.• Conduct risk management including facilitation of a safety culture and continual improvement as a result of incident management and procedural review.
