With nearly four decades of dedicated experience in the health, ambulance, and emergency services sector, I have had the privilege of serving in various senior clinical, operational, and leadership roles. Throughout my career, my unwavering commitment has been to enhance health outcomes for communities through stakeholder engagement, innovation, effective communication, and strategic leadership.As the former Chief Executive Officer of Ambulance Victoria, I had the opportunity to lead significant transformations and innovations that not only improved the health and well-being of our workforce but also introduced new service models to address changing needs and enhance clinical outcomes for the Victorian community. In recognition of these achievements, Ambulance Victoria was honoured with the Premier's Large Health Service of the Year award, lauding our outstanding performance and clinical outcomes that ranked among the best in Australia and internationally.My dedication to advancing ambulance services, resuscitation, and emergency care has garnered several prestigious awards, including the Ambulance Service Medal, Heart Foundation President’s Award, and the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Medal. I was deeply honoured to be named a finalist for the Australian Mental Health Prize, acknowledging my work in improving paramedic mental health and well-being.I am a Registered Paramedic, Life Member and Fellow of the Australasian College of Paramedicine, and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. I also hold appointments as adjunct Professor of Paramedicine at Monash University, adjunct Professor and Vice Chancellor’s Strategic Fellow at Victoria University, and Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Critical Care at the University of Melbourne.Since stepping down from my role at Ambulance Victoria, I've remained actively engaged as an academic, management consultant, and non-executive director, allowing me to continue pursuing my passion for improving emergency medical services and health systems, supporting first responder mental health, and furthering survivorship in the areas of out of hospital cardiac arrest and for those living with cancer.
