With a master's degree in elementary education from Liberty University and a bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences from Bluefield University, I have a strong foundation in human development, learning, and behavior. I apply this knowledge to my current role as the Human Resources Director at McDowell County Schools, where I oversee the recruitment, retention, and development of more than 500 staff members across 12 locations. In my eight years of experience in human resources, I have successfully implemented various initiatives to improve employee engagement, performance, and satisfaction, such as conducting surveys, organizing workshops, and creating recognition programs. I have also leveraged my skills in presentations, community relationships, and offboarding to promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
