Senior Linux System Administrator
CurrentResponsibilities: provided technical support, installation/configuration, administration and maintenance of hardware and software systems in multiple Test Environments for the Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA)/Composite Health Care System (CHCS) Healthcare Architecture on the Integration, System Buildout and Sustainment contracts with the Department of Defense (DoD).• Develop and test Linux scripts to perform automated deployment of software onto virtual servers.• System buildout and Sustainment of virtual machines in the AHLTA Environments.• Install/upgrade HP-UX and Red Hat Linux OS security patches.• Create or modify basic UNIX/Linux shell scripts to provide solutions for ad hoc requests. • Deploy Oracle updates and patches.• Perform maintenance activities to install, upgrade, patch, configure and test third party software such as Oracle Database, Oracle Tuxedo, eGate and Snareworks/Identiprise SecuredUser.• Install the HP-UX OS and configure the server to be used in support of projects in the AHLTA Environment.• As Nagios Administrator install and configure Nagios Monitoring Software.• As Nagios Administrator, design new solutions for monitoring custom processes by developing and testing Nagios Plugins to perform specific tasks for monitoring application and system processes. • Upgrade and configure Storage Arrays such as the NetApp V6080, HP EVA SAN, and HP 3PAR 7400 Luns to be used for various data storage.• Rack and network server hardware. • Install or replace failed hardware components such as server memory, NIC Cards and internal disk. • Communicate and collaborate with all members of my internal team when fulfilling requests across functional teams.• Perform ID Management and other System Administration Administrative Tasks.
