So it was pretty clear from the offset I wasn't going to make it as a professional footballer. For most who don't make it, it's due to family commitments, injuries or life simply got in the way. But for me it was simple...I just wasn't very good!After graduating with a degree from Aberystwyth University (I hadn't heard of it either), I began working as Events Manager at the Students' Union. I quickly learnt that students are fickle and change their mind every five minutes. I also learnt that it didn't matter how much you were able to spend, DJ's and artists were absolutely not willing to make the six hour trek from London to wet and windy Mid Wales...and who can blame them!I now work as a Sales and Events Manager at ARU Students' Union. Since arriving in Essex, we've had a total re-brand, moved offices in Cambridge and Chelmsford and recently opened a permanent cafe-bar in Chelmsford called 92. I have a really strong passion for technology, and led on a project to install four digital screens in our new SU space in Cambridge in 2017. This project proved a success and in 2018 we installed a further six screens on our Chelmsford campus.Outside of work I have a varied social life. Most Saturday afternoon's you'll find me stood in the middle of a football pitch trying to teach 22 players the laws of football. Most Sunday morning's I'll be one of those 22. I also play squash and golf and pretty much any sport I can.Theatre is another huge passion of mine and an industry I would love to work in, in the future. I'm a keen theatre-goer and regularly frequent both London and provincial theatre's. I have been attending the Edinburgh Fringe Festival every year since the late 90's and don't plan on stopping anytime soon! I have also written for the stage and have had several short plays performed professionally at Theatre503. I'm currently working on my first full-length play and hope to have this finished by early 2019.
