Responsible for the strategic direction of ICT infrastructure, security, telephony and end user computing across the three councils comprising the Mid Kent Improvement Partnership - Maidstone, Swale and Tunbridge Wells.

Responsible for the ICT service provision at Swale Borough Council covering aspects such as ICT strategy, policy, service planning, financial management, project planning (PRINCE2 Practitioner qualified) and compliance.My team deliver service desk, network and server infrastructure, database maintenance, GIS, systems integration, and software design and development functions to around 350 staff.

Leading a team of software developers creating and supporting local authority systems on Microsoft technologies such as SQL Server, Windows desktop and server, COM+, ASP.Implemented Swale Borough Council's award-winning CRM system - Northgate's Front Office - and became their first of over 100 live customers attracting over 130 site visits.First integration between Northgate Front Office and Adelante payments engine allowed CRM to take electronic payments for Council Tax in 2002 and later extended to allow web payments.Designed and built a bespoke web-facing front end for the CRM system to allow customers to log and track service requests, and make electronic payments.Designed and built a corporate workflow system based on Singularity's workflow platform.

Lead developer on in-house Council Tax, Business Rates, Land Charges, Environmental Health and HR systems built on the Pick database platform.Developed a 4GL and screen generator for Pick on which all future software for the organisation was created until the arrival of the GUI applications in the mid-90s.Created the Council's first email system in 1991 and connected it to the Internet in 1995.Experience with Geographical Information Systems.
