My final role (2020-2024) was the Head of The Built Environment subject area within the Department of the Natural and Built Environment at Sheffield Hallam University. where I had overarching responsibility for the management and delivery of our entire Built Environment Portfolio.I was delighted to have the opportunity to lead a fantastic subject area team of 35+. My specialist area of teaching was Built Environment / Real Estate Economics, and given I taught all our open-course undergraduate and postgraduate students, very few students 'escaped me'!My previous roles included Deputy Head of Area, Built Environment and Departmental Quality Lead. Prior to this:2013-2016 Post-graduate Programme Leader with responsibility for Architecture, Planning and Built Environment Provision2011-2013 Department Markets and Recruitment LeadPreceding this I have held several posts including as a temporary undergraduate programme leader within the former Department of the Built Environment and MSc Real Estate course leader (for both UK and Eastern European provision, the latter in partnership with Nottingham Trent University) with tandem responsibilities relating to B2B, student employability and employer engagement.I served as an elected member of the RICS Regional Board for Yorkshire and The Humber 2013-19 and was also a committee member of the local RICS member group in Sheffield for over a decade. I have eight years experience as an assessor for the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence and have seven (past or present) external examiner appointments (Harper Adams, Edinburgh Napier, University of The West of England, Oxford Brookes, The University of Reading, The University of Salford and Liverpool John Moores University) In 2019 I was appointed as a Higher Education Accreditation Provider reviewer for RICS Global EQS, a role in which I am continuing.
