Profile bio

About Tony Cole

Data Governance Lead skilled in data quality, performance management & reporting, continuous improvement, frameworks, system development & administration, SharePoint, project support and control. After 23 years at EDF Energy, my career has changed focus in the most motivational way possible allowing me to focus on my lifelong passion for numbers. In the last 18 months I have grasped the opportunity to reset my career, and channel my skills and experience into a data governance role. In joining the NHSBSA as a data governance specialist within a relatively new team, I have managed data as a strategic business asset by developing the approach to data quality incident management, improving data quality, helping to write the team’s objectives and setting the KPIs to demonstrate success. I have demonstrated my proactive attitude and personal motivation to be successful. This has now given me the platform to step into a new role as Data Governance Lead where I can coach and mentor a team of data governance and quality specialists to do likewise.I've taken the lead role in piloting the implementation of data profiling into the NHSBSA and have led the discussions with several business teams to introduce this service, taking them through the process for sharing business issues and articulating business rules in readiness to collaborate on the creation of impactful improvement actions. I've excellent written, verbal and presentation skills having played a key role in developing a successful data quality business case, and following approval, by developing and delivering the presentation material to successfully engage with business users and present progress updates to the Project Board. I now have experience of working with Data Governance Tools such as Alteryx and Datactics. I've taken the lead role in advocating the use of data profiling to help facilitate improvements in data quality. I am also experienced at reviewing end-to-end processes and creating KPIs to improve their effectiveness and efficiency, and I am well versed in using performance management, setting appropriate and stretching metrics to drive business improvement and utilising IT to improve inefficient manual processes.I’m motivated to make a difference and have a can-do attitude, typically picking up things ignored by others because I dislike unresolved issues and enjoy problem solving.I’m not one for being idle…sitting still is just the platform for innovative thinking.

Listed skills include Stakeholder Engagement, Prince2, Business Transformation, Pmo, and 27 others.
