I managed IT operations through periods of dramatic growth for an industry leading healthcare benefit management company. I had direct oversight of help desk, production control, network, systems administration, telecommunications and data center operations for four sites. I managed up to 20 employees across diverse technical teams and locations. While I was in this role, MedSolutions more than doubled employees and revenue.While at MedSolutions, I successfully managed a year-long, million dollar plus project to build out and move production operations to a new data center providing increased infrastructure redundancy and scalability. I served as the company’s first Security Officer with responsibility for developing and maintaining comprehensive security policies to meet HIPAA security guidelines and served as the IT contact for customer security audits. During my tenure, MedSolutions successfully passed several security audits from clients.Acting as Disaster Recovery Coordinator, I had responsibility for developing and maintaining a Business Impact Analysis, Disaster Recovery Plan and contracts with Sungard Recovery Services.In an effort to improve stability and accountability, I implemented a Production Control Team and Change Management process that resulted in significant system stability improvements.I was responsible for creating and tracking capital and operational budgets for IT. On an annual basis, I was responsible for managing a $9 million capital and $14 million expense budget.While serving as the Purchasing Manager for the IT department, with responsibility for implementing and managing the Microsoft Enterprise Agreements and yearly true-ups, I was also able to achieve significant cost savings through leveraged buying and negotiating discounts with our vendors. I negotiated and implemented service level agreements (SLAs) with our internal business units to ensure conditions of satisfaction were defined and measured.
