Ensured shipyard work practices were satisfactory. Personally ensured multiple mechanical seals installed in a lubrication system were corrected to the standard of zero leakage. • Directed and oversaw subsequent in-port and at-sea operational testing of all engineering systems and implemented temporary procedures to safely operate partially operable equipment. • Pioneered and orchestrated the actions to achieve the first submarine reactor criticality with Type II microprocessor based reactor control systems following a 22 month overhaul. Sole watch-stander implementing the multi-faceted DESRON 28 response to the April 24, 2004 attacks on the ABOT and KAAOT oil terminals.
