Co-owner and co-director of Geographic Business Solutions Ltd (GBS) since 2002 and I've been working in technology since 1980, and in GIS since 1995. In GIS, historically I have come from a technical background being hands on in terms of assessing customer needs and delivering technical solutions. These days, I mainly focus on business strategy, business development and account management, governance, and still keep my oar in some operations within GBS. Customer Relationship Management is still key to what I do and I'm also focused on our international business, mainly directed at South and North East Asia. GBS continues to grow in NZ, the Republic of Korea and in the US, in an ever-changing and increasingly competitive world. That I'm part of growing GBS and leading a great company with a fantastic team behind me, continues to provide exciting challenges.I'm also a life member at the Papakura City Football Club (even though I'm a rugby nut), and was on the executive for 8 years on the NZ Esri User Group Committee. Business management and working with community volunteers has many synergies and I've had great experiences working in both spaces.Those that know me, know that I'm passionate and loyal to my company, my staff, my whanau and my friends. Also, painfully loyal to the Highlanders, Tottenham Hotspur, the Green Bay Packers and the All Blacks (though that's less painful).
