Team Leader running 3 technicians, at a very fast paced logistics Company.I am responsible for the day to day running of the Server Environment and AS400, and a user base of around 400 users over 8 different sites around the UK.This includes Server Administration, Adds moves and changes, and Service Desk.The Company use windows a platform and run various bespoke applications for Transportation and Billing. Responsible for all site server backups and Administration of the Active Directory as well as running reports for KPI and reporting to management on a weekly basis. During this time I have upgraded all remote site networks, updated all company IT documentation, and implemented various changes to the IT Help Desk during this time.

Due to a previous contract I was offered a permanent position at Nortel Networks.Working as a site lead, I was responsible for a number technicians looking after around 2500 users, Installation and configuration of Software packages. Administration of the PND domain in Maidenhead. This involved Domain Admin on the file and print servers, maintaining user accounts and general administration of the Domain. I also ran a number of projects for software installation of MCS VOIP including standard Microsoft packages, and PC refresh.During this period I was outsourced to CSC, and worked on a number of other accounts supporting their server software. The customers included Gallagher, Otis and Bombardier; on these accounts my main role was to troubleshoot server issues that arose. I have had experience of Active directory migration on these account mainly Gallagher. My role also involved European travel and I have run projects in Monaco, Cannes and Istanbul. I have recently passed a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Administrator version 4 course.

This involved leading a team of 5 technicians running the Help desk, and daily duties included.Data Transfer and reconfiguration from one OS to another.

Employed by Unisys through an agency, I was sub-contracted to Dell who employed me at Intel Reading. This Position was as team leader to 4 engineers and required me to install dell Poweredge 2450 and 6350 servers into racks and installing and configuration of there software packages, connect to network and join a domain. I then monitored and maintained these machines carrying out break and fix on hardware and software troubleshooting. Support was 24x7.

Temporary contract with Nortel, it was my responsibility to ensure their PND. Public Network Development department was Y2k ready. This involved a desktop and laptop rollout of around 100 machines, 500 memory upgrades and all their last minute Y2k issues. The machines were a mixture of Dell, Compaq and HPs. Supervising two engineers, I advised on installation of the PCs and memory upgrades. Instructed staff on standard software packages and was responsible for the staffs data transfer and setting up new mail accounts. I dealt with all after installation software and hardware problems.

As an accredited Compaq server engineer was employed by Logistics International PLC to carry out most of their server installations and relocations. The servers I install are exclusively Compaq and Dell Poweredge servers. This also includes server peripherals such as storage boxes, DLT tape drives, UPSs, switch boxes and raid controllers, and software packages.I also dealt with server relocation; this involves preparing to move and de-installation of a companies servers. Temporary contract as team leader working for Compaq this was a, Desktop and Laptop rollout of Compaq Armarda notebooks and Compaq EN desktops. This involved the collection of all user data from old PCs and transfer to new PC via the network, then software configuration of standard packages.

Installation and support of IBM desktops and Notebooks, configuration of Office and Outlook package, NT4 workstation configuration. This included adding new users to the network at remote sites. Advised on the siting of computing equipment in line with DSE/VDU regulations.

1984 - 1998At the beginning of my career I carried out ceremonial duties in Whitehall London. After twoyears I joined the operational side of the regiment and progressed with my career and became aTechnical communications and weapons instructor achieving the rank of sergeant. I was directlyresponsible for the training and development of 150 personnel. This required me to instruct andtrain others to instruct on technical communications equipment. Also head of a radio repair cell,involved in first and second line repair and testing of communications equipment.
