If you have both, this is how you build '100 year companies'.I have recently closed the chapter as the CRO of Go1. One of only nine "Unicorns" to come out of Australia. In the year than I have been with Go1 we have improved sales rep performance from an average quota attainment of less than 70% to 110% whilst also increasing employee engagement by over 60%. I am very proud to have led the Xero team in the Americas. We almost doubled the subscribers and revenue in three years. Xero is a company that truly wants to make life better for the small businesses, their advisors and the communities they are in. It was an amazing opportunity for me to grow as a leader as the US dealt with the pandemic, racial and political unrest. I learned a lot about myself and my team.Before joining Xero I ran the ANZ Sales Organisation for Dropbox, LinkedIn and Asia Pacific for SurveyMonkey. Prior to this I was the founder of a successful cloud start-up, an experience which enabled me to build on my previous experience as COO and CMO for Microsoft Australia where I had full P&L responsibility of a $1 Billion+ business. In each of these roles I was primarily focused on developing great teams, building and growing both new and existing businesses, and accelerating revenues. I spent 10 years serving in key leadership roles at Microsoft which included running large sales, marketing and technical teams and managing multi-million dollar marketing budgets. I was part of the global Microsoft High Potential program for the top 1% of Microsoft Managers.Before I began my IT career, I was fortunate to travel the world as a member of the Canadian National Cycling Team. I represented Canada at the World cycling championships, Commonwealth and Goodwill Games.
