Australian Training Works (ATW) is an Indigenous Group Training Organisation (GTO).ATW legally employs Apprentices and Trainees and enters into hosting arrangements with host employers. ATW specialises in providing training,employment and mentoring solutions with a strong focus on Indigenous related outcomes. In addition to its GTO role, ATW has the expertise to provide the following services:- Community engagement- School to Work Transition and Career Pathway Planning - Staff development and capacity building - Structured ongoing support and mentoring - Training and Assessment- Delivery of Job Readiness and Transition to Work Programs- Work force planning and Work force Solutions (including Labour Hire)- Development and implementation of Indigenous Employment Strategies- Talent identification and general recruitment strategiesAs the Co-Owner and Managing Director of Australian Training Works, I have primary responsibility for setting and managing the strategic direction and future business growth of the company.

Remote Employment Services

Provide strategic leadership whilst managing an office of 35 staff in the delivery of FaHCSIA programs to the Far North Queensland and Cape York Peninsula areas

Support the strategic delivery of the Australian Government’s Remote Service Delivery, Closing the Gap, and Welfare Reform agendas throughout Cape York communities. Manage a team of seven contract managers responsible for FaHCSIA programs delivered into communities.Coordinate stakeholder engagement to bring about better employment and training outcomes for Indigenous people in Cape York and surrounding regions, through community/stakeholder engagement initiatives.Provide strategic advice to Executive Manager and FaHCSIA State and National office.Provide input into whole of government strategies and initiatives for Indigenous programs throughout the Cape York region.

Completed a 12 month contract, working across all divisions of DES to bring better service delivery outcomes in Indigenous communities across QueenslandResponsible for managing officers from various divisions – Qld Ambulance Service, Fire & Rescue, SES in improving service delivery arrangements for emergency response and disaster recovery across Queensland

Responsible for the delivery of housing grant funding and capital grants program to all Indigenous communities across Queensland

Headed up the Aboriginal Rental Housing Program which managed approximately 2500 tenancies across Far North Queensland and Torres Strait in the areas of housing allocations, tenancy management, asset management and public housing redevelopment.

Twelve month placement working with the Palm Island community to develop programs that enabled the community to build capacity and to better access programs.
