I am a successful business executive with proven experience in growing businesses as well as in turnaround situations and taking start-up businesses to market. Since 2009 I've been COO of SmartDraw Software. SmartDraw is a leader in helping companies visualize their business processes through our SmartDraw diagramming product and most recently our VisualScript Studio data visualization product. Watching SmartDraw evolve has been a very rewarding experience for me, and I’m proud to be a part of a talented team dedicated to helping enterprises discover burning issues buried in their DevOps and ITSM platforms. Prior to SmartDraw, I was co-founder of Acclivity Financial Corporation, a real estate development company acquiring multi-family properties and converting them to condos. Prior to Acclivity, I spent ten years serving as president/CEO of struggling software companies and either turning them around, selling, or otherwise disposing of them on behalf of their stakeholders. I would also review investment opportunities for Pattco Ventures, a private equity company. Prior to joining Pattco, I was president of Vericate Corporation, a software company pursuing analytical solutions to prescription drug fraud. Prior to Vericate, I worked in executive capacities for a variety of public and private entities including Mindport, Inc., HNC Software, Inc., Metromedia Company, BankAmerica Corporation (Security Pacific) and Diatek Corporation. I'm a past chairman and director of the San Diego Software Industry Council as well as a past director of the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation. I majored in business at the University of Louisville and hold an MBA degree in management from Pepperdine University.
