Profile bio

About Tony Richards

I am currently Chairman of Rugby's Golf Club and responsible for organising our annual events in conjunction with The Rugby Business Network. I have been a sales professional for the past 47 years, including involvement in the shoe trade, business and marketing sales for animal welfare and re-launching the Taunton Agricultural Show.In 2011 I co-founded Rugby's Golf Club, organising golfing events with a difference throughout the UK and in one instance a 3 day event at La Manga, Spain. At these events funds were raised for good causes, in the first instance RGC supported Help for Heroes and more specifically installed £120k worth of Huxley specialist golf equipment at two of the four Help for Heroes rehabilitation centres at Tedworth House, Wilts and The Chavasse Centre, Colchester. In 2014 RGC joined forces with the Rugby Business Network giving them the opportunity to reach a greater audience and therefore expand their event calendar. In 1989 I started what was to be a long association with Wooden Spoon, a charity of British Rugby supporting physically, mentally and socially disadvantaged children. From being an early volunteer and chairman of the Somerset committee of WS, I became fully employed eventually as Deputy CEO. I was responsible for staring 35 of the 45 fundraising regions of the charity taking their donating income from 500k to 1.5m during that time.If you would like to attend one of our Rugby Business Network/Rugby's Golf Club events or have Rugby's Golf Club plan a golf event for you charity or business, please do not hesitate to get in touch at tony.richards@rugbysgolfclub.co.uk or on 07850 466 473

Listed skills include Event Management, Sales, Charitable Support, Management, and 7 others.
