Born in Laverton, Western Australia, I am a Wongutha person and a child of the Stolen Generations. Raised in institutions, forbidden from speaking my native language or embracing my culture, my return home was challenging and left me with a profound sense of displacement and a lack of belonging. With guidance from my Elders, I learned the Wongai language and ways, finally reconnecting with my cultural roots. This journey is what led me to start Indigenous Services Australia, offering cultural awareness consulting and training services to corporate and community entities across Australia.
