Responsibilities:Design, document, implement, and support highly available services to support APIs used by external web applications and other internal services. Highlights:Solely architected, implemented, tested, rolled out, and supported the ModerationLite service, an interim content moderation system allowing Product Managers and Custormer Success Engineers to easily and quickly accept/reject, and provide feedback on content created by brands to be displayed on their Amazon Brand Store in the Amazon Guided Shopping (AGS) Virtual Shopping Assistant. This system was designed to stand in for Amazon's MARS moderation service until they process their year long onboarding backlog.Collaborated on architecting and building the Agency System for Alexa Internet's (Amazon subsidiary) website, allowing multi-user subscriptions for use by larger companies instead of single user subscriptions. This project involved creating an entirely new subscription management system which had to work with the existing single user system while handling group level authentication/authorization. At the same time, this project was the spearhead for moving Alexa Internet from a more traditional server instance model to a serverless model using AWS lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB. It was such a success that all projects at Alexa Internet (and later AGS) used a serverless model going forward wherever feasible.Collaborated with one other engineer to create the Alexa Internet Email Campaign Service, which allowed Product Marketing to create secure email campaigns that adhered to Amazon's strict privacy policies. Contributed to the entire system design which had to pass the highest level of Amazon security review and was solely responsible for the task scheduling/execution (Executor) module. The resulting system securely delivered millions of emails, and Executor was so generally useful that it was used by other projects for years.
