- Formed and ran Hawkswell Associates Ltd - initially as Export Consultancy delivering contracts and concessions with UK and European Major Department Store Groups.Distribution was set up internationally (which included the two most difficult markets for UK fashion products, the USA and France), as were listings on board airlines and in airports internationally.Successful German concessions were duly opened in Karstadt, Hertie and Kaufhof. - These were “turn key” operations, with all aspects being covered from initial contact through contract and site negotiation, staff employed etc… to the first sales being rung up at the tills.As a result of the success of this consultancy, Tony Swait also successfully negotiated concessions for ATTWOOD & SAWYER in KaDeWe (the Berlin “Harrods”) and for NAPIER (Then the 2nd largest US fashion jewellery company) with 3 outlets in the prestigious Breunninger Department Stores in southern Germany.It was during the negotiations with Tax Free companies and airlines in this niche market that Hawswell started to distribute accessories, toys and gifts. The first major customer was Lufthansa followed by Hapag Lloyd, Munich and Stuttgart Duty Free, Dubai Duty Free, Abu Dhabi DF, Oman DF, Bahrain DF and Doha DF in quick succession. Several listings with British Airways, KLM, Singapore Airlines and many charter companies in the league of My Travel and Britannia added to the impressive list of worldwide customers, which still is growing.- World Tax & Duty Free presence was during this time developed for many major high end brands as well as children's accessories. - Hawkswell also developed own brand and no brand products, from design through manufacturer, including all packing, marketing and logistics, as products customised for Hawkswell's various Duty Free Outlets and Operators. - The Hawkswell trading name was sold to a Danish Group in October 2004- Consultancy work being taken on exclusively thereafter.

Appointed Sales Director of Imprinted Sportswear (new part of Floridan Group). The company produced flock transfers and supplied brand names such as LEVIS, LEE COOPER, FALMERS, LEE, ADIDAS, LE COQ SPORTIF, PUMA, DUNLOP and many others. Controlled two UK Sales representatives and recruited a network of European Distributors. Much of my time (50%) was spent overseas at Exhibitions, Training and Motivating the sales forces of our distributors and liaising with the principalsImprinted Sportswear was bought by Sperrin Textiles (largest Northern Ireland warp knitters, turnover £12 m.) Asked to join Sperrin Textiles as Sales Director of Texmotif Ltd (renamed Imprinted Sportswear.) The position was very much the same as Imprinted Sportswear with added emphasis on export and diversification. Also a great deal of time spent successfully establishing large US distribution network.
