Improved productivity measured as sales/employee from $130,000/emp to $290,000/emp while transitioning production capacity from $18 million in FY86 revenues to $100 million in FY96 revenues.Participated in three labor contract negotiations. After a three-week strike in October 1996, I convinced management and labor to pursue a self-directed-work-team environment. In two years we implemented several teams, realizing a 20% reduction in assembly hours, eliminated four first line supervisors, and reached a consensus to pursue Interest Based Bargaining for the 1999 labor negotiation.Installed an Advanced Planning and Scheduling System based on Theory of Constraints principles which reduced component part manufacturing lead time from 8 weeks to 2 weeks; reduced overtime spending $100,000/yr, and provided the basis for intelligent outsourcing decisions and capital spending.Introduced Synchronous Flow methodology and TOC as a continuous process of ongoing improvement. Personally trained management and production personnel, paving the way for our move from an MRP driven schedule to a finite capacity planning and scheduling system.Implemented work cells incorporating material handling and inspection activities and reduced operating expense by $250,000/
