Introduced a pioneering direct service model with peer support specialists in crisis care settings, integrated with cutting-edge suicide prevention applications. A public speaker sharing personal stories about my experience as a suicide attempt survivor and living in recovery from behavioral health challenges to inspire and encourage people experiencing mental health challenges to thrive in supportive workplaces and communities and to help reduce stigma.

Serves as the Peer Bridger/Trauma Informed Care Program Manager with King County Behavioral Health and Recovery Division who is responsible for the management, implementation and expansion of the King County Peer Bridger programs and supports the continuing efforts to transform the King County Behavioral Health system to incorporate trauma informed/trauma responsive practices as a framework for all service delivery.• Served as a key player in the development and implementation of the Western State Hospital Peer Bridger Program and provides ongoing supervision and program management for the program.• Contract Monitor for the current Peer Bridger Programs embedded within two local psychiatric hospitals providing contract oversight and technical support for two King County psychiatric hospitals.• Member of the King County Transitional Support Workgroup tasked with the development and expansion of hospital and jail based programs to be funded through a Medicaid Expansion Waver. • Facilitates the Peer Bridger Operations Meeting with all three Peer Bridger Programs in King County. • Supervises the King County Quality Review Team responsible for conducting agency visits to provide opportunities for people living in recovery to voice their input on services in the county.

Was the Peer Support Programs Supervisor with Harborview Medical Center, a certified peer counselor who served as supervisor for 13 Peer Support Specialists, mentored, trained and coordinated staffing for multiple services groups. Drove and managed several concurrent mission-critical Inpatient and Outpatient programs and initiatives, often served as the face of the organization within Harborview and out in the community. Recognized as a leader in championing Recovery Principles and as a SME for EPIC EMR system. • Successfully led and implemented the Peer Bridger program (designed to build impactful patient relationships during hospitalization, increasing buy-in to outpatient services in order to reduce recidivism rates). Worked closely with cross-divisional managers and cross-functional specialists. Consulted with IT to automate electronic data management and promote compliance. • Business process analysis responsibilities included serving as mental health services liaison with King County BHRD. Has participated in numerous process improvement initiatives including a data management reconciliation project (with IT) to lift agency from non-compliant (65%-70% accurate) to compliant (closer to 95% accurate). • Identified as a thought leader and serves as a key member on numerous high profile committees. Regularly delivers presentations inside and outside the organization to promote programs and attract funding for grant-sourced endeavors.

Served as Team Lead for nine Peer Support Specialists while directing multiple ancillary support services—as a Peer Support Services Coordinator with Mental Health Outpatient Services division of HMC. Instrumental in expanding size of team from four to nine, as well as enhancing collective effectiveness through extensive internal trainings. • Ramped-up Peer Support Specialists’ process and systems integration knowledge substantially, leading team to win King County’s Exemplary Service Award for Systems Integration in 2009. Presented at Washington State Behavioral Healthcare Conference multiple times. • Addressed increasing job performance problems by developing and implementing a Peer Support Service Internship program, and presented program parameters at WSBHC. • Supervisor of Harborview Recycling Services, a prevocational training program for mental health services consumers. Helped revamp HMC’s entire recycling program as a key member of Harborview Environmental Sustainability Committee’s Green Team, leading HMC to win 2012 Washington State Recycling Association’s Washington State Recycler of the Year award.

Received national recognition for the site and presented it at the 2005 Cerner Health Conference in Orlando, Fl. • Classroom trainer, specializing in Cerner electronic medical records systems and Microsoft Office applications.• Provided on-site “go-live” training and support for multiple product enhancement rollouts.
