Over 30 adventurous years in public education, spanning from organizing and teaching gifted students, grant writing and supervision for special education, assistant principal at both the high school and middle school levels, head principal of a successful middle school family, and assistant director of curriculum and instruction for Blount County Schools. Participated and lead in the development of innovative professional learning, technology integration and support with limited funding, comprehensive school-wide and district-wide literacy initiatives, and creating a culture of collaboration. Beginning with my first experiences as an Emergency Medical Technician and culminating with my current position, I operate from the belief of creating a culture of family, forming a vision to meet critical needs, surround the vision with capable believers, and work together to get the job done. I am very willing to share my experiences to encourage, motivate, and build capacity with others in an entertaining and engaging way. My philosophy is life is short and we have important things to get done. Let's find a way and have fun sharing the experience as we do it.
