● Converted/recreated 2005 packages to 2012 as parameterized packages in Visual Studio and deployed to DEV and QA environments for testing using the Team Explorer plugin● Created SQL jobs that used environment variables in SSMS to run the new 2012 packages● Reworked existing code as new SPROCs to deliver reports● Tasked with converting an old Access application to SQL Server backend by utilizing Integration Services● Used Red Gate’s SQL Compare and SQL Data Compare to ensure table structures and data content was synced between environments

• Primary responsibility was to create reports in the dev environment based on the Business Requirements Document (BRD) and Data Dictionary, test the result sets for accurate data and create deployment and rollback scripts for deployment into the test environment.• Reports were developed using Views, Stored Procedures and Functions as necessary in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)• Because there was little to no data in the dev environment it was necessary to generate test data in order to reliably test the reports.• Created business objects based on the BRD and data dictionary for more manageable and reusable code using Views• Communicated with the business via emails and short ad hoc meetings when the defined requirements were unclear.• Participated in daily SCRUM meetings and sprint planning meetings• Solved performance challenges by analyzing Execution plans, creating basic & covered indexes and testing multiple temp table methods. In extreme cases, new fields were created in a couple of tables and triggers were used to calculate the values eliminating the need to constantly recalculate the results.• Commented code as needed to make maintaining and troubleshooting code simpler after deployment
