Writer & Customer Service
American Home Recycling is a real estate company aimed at ending the affordable housing crisis. My tasks included:1. Managing projects in housing development including locating land using sites such as Zillow, Redfin, and many others. Once the land was located, I would ensure that the land would meet our standards. This meant that it was mostly flat, had nearby utilities, had healthy soil and that the city/town allowed modular homes. Once I verified it met these standards, I would notify the housing development team and once they went through their approvals, it would come back to me. This is where my project would begin. I would bring in the modular building team; the architect; the local building team; the solar installation team; the grey water team; the landscaping team; the accountant; and the real estate agent. Those are the people that would make up the initial team. Next, I would create job descriptions, based on this project, for each individual or team. A calendar of when each task had to be completed was created next. This made sure that the entire project stayed on schedule. My next task was to work with the accountant to create a master budget and then an individual budget for each individual/team in order to keep the entire team on budget. To ensure nothing fell through the cracks, in the first two weeks we had a meeting every day, it was each team/individual saying what has been accomplished, and leaders providing information on the project. There was also a question-and-answer portion of the meeting. At the end of each meeting, they had the opportunity to speak privately with the leadership team. As for my writing tasks, they included writing a monthly newsletter, 4-5 articles a month, the annual review, 2-3 white papers a year, and web content.2. Answered calls remotely three days a week. Calls included questions about home ownership, models available, timeline for building a home, energy efficiency, sending a new home package.
