Turning the ISI Gateway prototype into a real product.Main responsibilities: technical architecture and creating of a property based automated test system.The main requirement was to ensure flawless connectivity to the rest of the existing system and maintain the functionality over the ISI connection to another system.New learnings: property based testing, very robust software architecture using Erlang.QuickCheck was used to create an automated property based test system that enabled us to validate that our gateway could connect flawlessly with the existing system. After this I will use QuickCheck to test just about everything since it deals with both unit test, integration test and system test and is a very powerful and efficient way to get extremely high quality code.Through clever use of the Erlang supervisor structure we have created a very robust product that deals with unexpected things in a very robust manner.Other achievements.-----------------------------I also created a training course in Basic Erlang for our new team members based on the "Erlang Programming" book by Cesarini & Thompson.Conducted a RFQ with 4 different vendors in order to get a new E1 card for the Solaris platform that we ported our Linux prototype to.

Creation of a prototype product using Erlang/OTP.Worked with a co-worker from April 2006 to get the idea approved and started working full time from June 2007.Interoperability test certificate for an ETSI standard achieved in April 2008.Roles in the project: "project management" for the small team (status reporting and planning), set-up of a version control system (Subversion) and a defect tracking system (Trac), designed and developed a Q.SIG stack and interface to a E1 card. Created the software architecture for the product. From May 2008 we are working on an extension of the interoperability certificate with extra features and the product is currently planned to be part of the next major system release.
