FEBIGA is the association of private biogas companies in Flanders and represents 90% of the biogas production plants in the Flemish market. The support that FEBIGA enjoys reflects the need that investors and entrepreneurs feel for a professional structure that can directly address their key business values towards ministers, government advisers and other stakeholders in the further development of this renewable energy industry.

From 2002 till 2014 QAT Investments (QAT I, QAT II) was a hands-on venture capital group that aims for active participation in early-stage technology companies in the Benelux. QAT realized a positive risk/return ratio by providing a complete mix of capital, manpower and valuable managerial knowledge. In 2015 QAT III made a shift towards the market of private equity, thereby closing all of the venture capital files.Tasks: Due diligence of new 'cleantech' files (MTT, SBAE, ...) at QAT Investments: dealflow assistance, operational and financial 'due diligence' and providing general support to senior partners, investment managers, legal counsel and finance department. Editing of commercial newsletters and investment memorandum for new shareholders.

The company. BIOFER is a waste-to-energy biogas plant located in Flanders with an installed CHP (combined heat and power) capacity of 3,4 MWe providing green electricity to 8.000 family households via the process of anaerobic digestion. Therefore valorising a portfolio of 60.000 tons of organic food and agricultural waste. I was appointed plant manager by its main shareholder QAT INVESTMENTS, a hands-on venture capitalist who joined this new technology based firm after an explosion made the plant inoperative in 2005. The foreseen quick reshape of the firm into a blue-print has proven to be a true entrepreneurial challenge. Results. I managed to develop the company from an early-stage start-up into a M&A target of an important international player in the market of renewable energy, being EDF Energie Nouvelle.

Tour management of an upmarket outbound touroperator, handling over 200 pax per year to long-haul destinations, best known for its tour group brand ANDERSDANANDERS. I was responsible tourleader for Argentina, Peru, Canada and Alaska.

By the University of Cordoba (Spain) I was appointed project administrator in the high Andes in Peru responsible for the expenses/administration of the project between Spain and the local partners at Peru. Besides administration I was responsible for the realization of certain milestones in relation to forestry aspects within the project. I worked together with a team of 5 NGO-coöperants, besides myself being one anthropologist, 2 civil engineers and 1 veterinarian. As a team we had to live for 8 months on-site which can be considered one of the most remote areas in the Andes at 3600 meters.
