I work as a software engineer for Lifeware, designing software solutions for the life insurnace industry. Before that, I got a PhD from the School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh. My PhD research was about hybrid rotational femtosecond/picosecond coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (HR-CARS) for nitrogen thermometry at high pressures and temperatures. However, my scientific background is much broader, I have a first class interdisciplinary master’s degree in Chemical Physics. In addition, I have relevant work experience, including a yearlong industrial internship as an analytical chemist and a year as a visiting researcher at the Sandia National Laboratories in Livermore, CA. During my life, I have lived in six different countries, acquiring an extensive international experience, and considerably improving my ability to adopt to different and new situations fast. After my early childhood in Germany, I lived a year in Italy, six years in Hungary and four years in Slovakia. For my master’s degree and PhD, I spent a total of seven years in Scotland and two years in the United States. In my free time, I enjoy riding bicycle to stay active. To contrast this, my big passion is coin collecting, a hobby that I have pursued continuously since my childhood, and that, among other things, helped developed my patience, attention to detail, and curiosity.
