In the role of Director of Inclusion of the Beta Kappa chapter of Alpha Delta Pi at the University of British Columbia, I aspire to engage members in conversations surrounding topics of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Through this, will hopefully foster a more inclusive and welcoming environment for both current and new members.

Being a server at Grouse Mountain, I had the opportunity to serve and meet people from around the world. This job had aspects different to other serving jobs, being dealing with tourists and being accountable to know the activities the mountain provides, various themed nights (trivia, live-music, etc.), as well as serving large sections, and last minute changes because of events or buy-outs of the restaurant. This experience in such a high-paced environment equipped me with the necessary skills to be a server.

As a hostess at Altitudes Bistro, I had many different responsibilities in order for the restaurant to function and thrive. Those include, warmly welcoming guests and tourists through our doors, bussing and sanitizing tables, expediting food, managing wait-lists, as well and ensuring servers are equally seated and supported while working. Additionally, as one of the longest support staff apart of Altitudes Bistro, I properly trained many new support staff and have helped them better adjust to the restaurant industry. My side duties included polishing cutlery and glassware, as well as making sure each menu given out has been sanitized for the next guest. In this role I am also aware of events and shows happening around the entire mountain and knowledgeable of the activities guests and tourists can participate in!

In this position as lead hostess I managed guest concerns, in person as well as over the phone, Skip the Dishes orders, clearing tables, re-setting them, and expediting food. I used OpenTable to manage reservations while taking guest information for waitlists. Additionally, I also made sure each hostess or host that shift was staying on task and maintaining their role.
