As a student editor of the PIG from USPCE, I actively edit, format, and create new content for the reproduction, nutrition, and breeding and genetics section of the PIG.

Delicately prepare samples for trace element analysis including weighing, freeze drying, homogenization, and acid digestion. Run samples through mercury analyzer and mass spectrometer. Share metal contamination data with organizations such as U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services.

Plan events for the association and coordinate Certified Texas Bred Registry information. Create and share social media content on the Association Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages. Create magazine ads and content for Producer's Connection publication. Correspond with pork producers and consumers across the state of Texas.

Worked as a sow technician on a 4,200 head sow farm in both farrowing and breeding departments. Daily chores within the farrowing department included sow and piglet care, weaning, treatments, day one care, delivery, and record keeping. Daily chores in the breeding department included post cervical artificial insemination, body condition scoring, ultra sounding for pregnancy checks, and sorting based on like qualities. Also worked as a finishing technician on a 5,500 head research farm. Chores included FeedLogic upkeep, sample collection, weighing, and tattooing. Emphasized on record keeping for research trial regarding dried distillers grains as a main feedstuff in the diet.

Collected various biological samples for analysis. Rationed dietary supplements and feeds throughout the research trial. Maintained various spreadsheets and data logs with information pertaining to the amino acid study.
