Organized eight to ten volunteers to make twice weekly trips to distribute homemade food and drink to food insecure individuals in Philadelphia. Organized biannual fundraisers to support other efforts of group. Generally raised $200-1000 per fundraiser through a combination of solicitation of in-kind donations, online advertising, bake sales, ect. Founded new partnerships with Prevention Point and the Free Library of Philadelphia that enabled us to increase the number of meals served by more than 200%.

Tutor, mentor, role model at Markham Middle School responsible for increasing the grades, socioemotional skills, and standardized test scores of eleven seventh grade students at high risk for not completing their high school education. Worked 50-80 hours a week preforming small group pull out math literacy sessions, intensive 1-on-1 reading and math skill sessions, and small group socioemotional skill sessions with students. Additionally, served as the Socioemotional Learning Coordinator of the Markham City Year team; Wrote much of the socioemotional skill session curricula for the team of 13 Americorps members. Recipient of the “Belief in the Power of Young People Award” for exceptional work ethic and compassion for students.
