Three Chopt Elementary
Instruct academically and socially diverse classes containing general education, special education, and identified gifted students. Lead them to successfully complete county/statewide testing and master second and third grade Virginia Standards of Learning while simultaneously maintaining hands-on, engaging, goal oriented learning experiences to improve reading, writing, and math fluency, scientific investigation, and history objectives. Create innovative curriculum units and lesson plans, as well as weekly parent communications and student progress forms. Integrate technology through the development of activities that reinforce 21st century skills. Employ kinesthetic, visual and auditory approach to make lessons interesting and interactive while differentiating activities to meet the needs of individual learners. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests after collecting and interpreting student/classroom data. Enhance students’ academic and social growth by getting to know each student on a personal level; include whole group, small group, and individual instruction to provide a solid academic foundation and positive attitude toward learning.
